Dr. Tulzer graduated from the Medical School at the University of Vienna, Austria in 1983. Following his residency in General Medicine and Pediatrics in Austria, he trained in Pediatric Cardiology at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, at Children’s Hospital of Boston, Harvard Medical School (interventional cardiology), at the University Hospitals in Bonn, Germany and Vienna, Austria. In 1995 he founded the Children’s Heart Center in Linz and became Head of Pediatric Cardiology at the Children’s Hospital of Linz. He built up a state-of-the-art Pediatric Cardiology Program along with a fetal cardiology service. Now, the Children’s Heart Center Linz, is one of the largest Centers in Europe, with a staff of more than 300 people, taking care of appr. 9.000 patients and families with congenital heart disease, performing per year about 350 pediatric cardiac surgeries about the same number of cardiac catheterizations. In the year 2000 he performed the world’s first successful fetal pulmonary valvuloplasty in a fetus at 26 weeks gestation. Now all kinds of fetal intracardiac procedures are offered in his center. To date with >250 conducted fetal procedures the largest program in Europe and the second largest world-wide. He is a member of the editorial board of “Pediatric Cardiology” and serves a reviewer for many international scientific journals like: Circulation, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, American Journal of Cardiology, Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Journal of OBGYN, Pediatric Cardiology and several more. During his career he received numerous scientific prices and research grants and served as president and council member in many national and international scientific societies. He is author of > 120 peer reviewed scientific publications in PubMed listed journals (cumulative impact factor > 400) and 22 book-chapters. He joined the Juice Plus+ Company in 1995 and holds the position of EMD. He was in the scientific advisory board of the Children’s Health Study (now: Healthy Starts for Families) and serves as an advisor and consultant to the JuicePlus Science Institute.
